Robert Thompson

Bob Thompson is a retired professor of Political Science who taught political science, public administration, and health policy at East Carolina University for over 35 years. He also served in various administrative roles over the years such as department chair, director of the MPA Program, university director of planning and institutional research, chief of staff to the chancellor, and interim vice chancellor for academic affairs. As director of planning, he was responsible for the university’s strategic planning process. His involvement with homelessness includes previous service as a member of NCCEH’s Board of Directors from 2012 to 2018, with two terms as chair. He was also co-chair of Greenville-Pitt County’s ten-year plan to end homelessness from 2009 to 2011. He has also been a long-time member of the North Carolina Coalition to End Homelessness.
