The Point-in-Time Count is conducted in order to try to ascertain how many people are homeless in our communities. The count is conducted across the country at the end of January each year and gathers information about persons experiencing homelessness on one given night.

 

During the count, staff and volunteers gather data such as demographic information (including gender and race), causes of homelessness, where persons are sleeping, and subpopulation information (such as veterans, victims of domestic violence, etc.).
