VASH Project-Based Vouchers Application Deadline Extended
Funding Opportunity:
On September 28, 2010, HUD announced the availability of a set-aside of 500 project-based Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) vouchers. Public Housing Agencies that already received an allocation of HUD-VASH vouchers in 2008, 2009, or 2010 are eligible to apply for a portion of these vouchers.
HUD has extended the deadline for applications to February 28, 2011. HUD has also published additional guidance about the application process. Please refer to the updated notice of funding opportunity for full details.
Available Technical Assistance:
The Technical Assistance Collaborative, Inc. (TAC) has created a summary of the updated notice, which is available on their website.
TAC is also currently providing limited technical assistance (TA) to agencies applying for these vouchers. This TA must target non-profit organizations and PHAs working with non-profit owners and housing developers. Some examples of how TAC may be able to assist include:
- Answering questions about the application
- Assisting in identifying partner agencies in the community
- Facilitating a conference call between application partners to answer questions related to the application and VASH project-based voucher operating procedures
- Reviewing required application narratives, including descriptions of available supportive services
