Funding Opportunity:

The VA has published a Letter of Intent for the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program. Under the SSVF Program, VA awards grants to private non-profit organizations and consumer cooperatives who can provide supportive services to very low-income Veteran families living in or transitioning to permanent housing. Grantees provide a range of supportive services designed to promote housing stability to eligible very low income Veteran families.

The Letter of Intent is due by September 28, 2012 and is non-binding – it does not factor into any decisions on funding awards. The publication of a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) should follow in early FY 2013.

The notice of the letter of intent, including instructions for submission, can be found in the Federal Register.  Information about the SSVF program, the letter of intent, and a sample letter can be found online at www.va.gov/homeless/ssvf.asp.

Questions should be referred to the SSVF Program Office via phone at (877) 737–0111 (this is a toll-free number) or via email at SSVF@va.gov.
