Orange County - SOAR Caseworker
Orange County Government is seeking a full time Community SOAR Case Worker to do SOAR cases full time. The Community SOAR Case Worker provides professional social work and case management services to homeless individuals.

Knowledge of human development.
Knowledge of mental health and substance use/abuse.
Knowledge regarding traumatic brain injury.
Knowledge of trauma informed care.
Knowledge of Social Security Administration policies/procedures.
Knowledge of local and Statewide resources and programs, including, but not limited to social service programs and benefits services.
Knowledge of social work foundations and skills to practice ethically.
Skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Knowledge of family dynamics and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work with a diverse group in terms of age, race, mental and physical ability, ethnicity, culture and etc.
Ability to read and understand medical records.
Ability to collect and analyze information and data.
Must have effective organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, the general public and outside agencies.
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both in verbal and written forms).
Ability to respond appropriately to crisis situations
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Valid North Carolina Driver License..
Ability to operate a computer (including Microsoft Office software applications), facsimile machine, calculator, and automobile.
Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services or related field and 1 to 4 years of experience in human development, working with mental health, and substance use/abuse cases.
Must complete SOAR training.
