Onslow County Veterans Stand Down

The Onslow Job Link Veterans Unit is hosting a Veteran Stand down. What is a Veteran Stand down? It is a local free event held for homeless and indigent Veterans that include a variety of services such as health screenings, VA services, employment, veteran services, clothing, etc…

This is the 3rd Veterans Stand down in Onslow County and will be held February 5, 2013 from 10am-4pm.

These resources are FREE & scheduled to be provided:
  • VA Mobile Vet Center & Rural Health Team
  • VA Homeless Coordinator on site
  • Veteran Service Office
  • Jacksonville Veteran Center
  • Free blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, & HIV testing
  • Dental care Appointments
  • Veteran Organizations
  • Mental Health resources
  • Department of Social Services
  • Transitional housing for Veterans
  • Food & Nutrition Services Coordinator
  • Job assistance & job training programs
  • Haircuts,clothes,showers , toiletries, & laundry vouchers
  • Food
This stand down is open to anyone in need, but VETERANS HAVE PRIORITY! If you are a Veteran & have your DD-214 or any other identification identifying you as a Veteran please bring it the day of the stand down if possible. Some resources that will be at the stand down will have to verify Veteran status such as the mobile vet unit, VA rural health team, plus some of the free items will only be for veterans via verification.
