2011 Faith Institute on Homelessness

The 2011 Faith Institute on Homelessness will take place later this month: a regional, interfaith conference for individuals and congregations on our opportunity for, and role in, ending homelessness.

A new year has begun--what better time to reflect on how we might be more intentional in our local missions? With advances in data collection and program evaluation, we know more today than ever about the complexities of homelessness--why people find themselves in crisis, the obstacles to returning to stability, and strategies that are proving more effective and life-changing than our traditional models of charity. Congregations throughout our region have incredible opportunity to make real change happen around this issue.

Together we will visit Best Practice programs that are moving even the most challenged homeless individuals to housing, and learn more effective ways of making this happen in our own communities. The Institute is targeted to individuals and congregations interested in helping our communities move away from managing homelessness and toward ending it.

Registration, including the networking social on the 24th and lunch on the 25th, is $75 per attendee--or just $50 per person when two or more register from the same congregation or group. Click here for more information and to register.
