The conference program will be offered in two different citi es, Denver, Colorado and Atlanta, Georgia. Each conference will focus on H MIS implementation, Annual Homeless Assessment Report (AHAR) participation , and the important changes made to HUD&rsquo\;s McKinney-Vento Homeless A ssistance Programs by the 2009 HEARTH Act. Attendees will learn how the HE ARTH Act amendments may affect local planning and project operations going forward and hear about steps to be taken in preparation for transitioning to new requirements.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n The conferences will include a mix of breakout sessions and workshops designed to provide attendees with the information and tools they need to begin planning for changes to local an d state programs, planning and project operation. The program also offers attendees an important opportunity to learn about requirements for electro nic reporting on homeless programs in a hands-on environment. Among the to pics to be covered are:\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n * Transition issues and building a foundation for success\;\r\n * Using HMIS Data for CoC planning\;\r\n * System planning and redesign\;\r\n * HPRP and system transformation\;\r\n * AHAR for new and experienced communities\; and\r\n * Strategies for imp lementing rural programs.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n Who should attend the training conferences\r\n HUD strongly encourages HMIS administrators and CoC leade rs to attend as well as ESG and HPRP grantees.
