North Carolina Coalition to End Homelessness

Rapid Re-housing for Youth

Rapid re-housing is a proven intervention as an effective tool to end homelessness by placing the highest priority on providing permanent housing and services quickly. Across the country agencies are successfully implementing rapid re-housing for youth ages 18-24, a population that often faces severe shortages of safe housing options, particularly in rural areas.  Point Source Youth (PSY), a national non-profit and leading expert in housing solutions for youth experiencing homelessness, is offering a webinar in partnership with the North Carolina Coalition to End Homelessness to share best practices, tips on successfully obtaining funding and implementing rapid re-housing for youth, and  answer questions on implementation in North Carolina. With staff living in North Carolina (Associate Director, South - Dr. Todd Rosendahl), PSY is also an already funded local resource to assist in starting rapid re-housing, host home, and family strengthening programs to support youth experiencing unstable housing.  We will share lessons learned from other communities who have implemented rapid re-housing for youth.  The webinar will also be an open dialogue with plenty of time for questions from those attending.
