Description

On Tuesday, January 26 from 1 p.m. ET to 2 p.m. ET, the National Alliance to End Homelessness and the Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) are co-hosting a webinar to launch an advocacy campaign to increase funding for HUD's McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Grants program in FY 2011.  Please join in to discuss how we can work together on related advocacy activities this year.  Click here to register for the webinar.

Why is this so critical?
Last year, Congress passed the HEARTH Act to reauthorize the McKinney program.  While the legislation makes a positive expansion of investments in homelessness prevention and assistance for families experiencing homelessness, without adequate appropriations funding to pay for these expansions there may be CUTS to other McKinney activities.

Who should join?
Anyone who utilizes McKinney funding and people interested in partnering in advocacy activities this year.  WE NEED YOUR HELP to gain a LARGE boost to Homeless Assistance Grants funding in FY 2011.

More info:
Speakers from the Alliance and CSH will provide an overview of the HEARTH Act provisions related to funding expansions, the process for impacting HUD appropriations in FY 2011, and what we can do together (both local and national efforts) to secure adequate funds for the new McKinney program.
