NC Interagency Council for Coordinating Homeless Programs
Awards for Excellence
In 1997, the Interagency Council for Coordinating Homeless Programs (ICCHP) initiated awards to recognize individuals, organizations, foundations, corporations, and congregations that have made significant contributions to the homeless people of North Carolina through the sponsorship, operation, support or involvement in programs benefiting homeless people. The award categories are as follows:
- Sandra Wells Peterson Outstanding Professional Advocate Award
- Outstanding Community Impact Award
- Outstanding Congregation Award
- Outstanding Corporation Award
- Outstanding Volunteer Award
- Outstanding Personal Achievement Award
Nominations must be received no later than Friday, October 24, 2008.
To begin the nomination process, fill out the nomination form and submit it electronically here.
Please mail a 1-2 page narrative which explains the significant contributions that the nominee has made in the area recognized by the award. Provide detailed examples of the work and/or contributions of the nominee and how this has impacted the homeless. Pay special attention to all criteria in the award category.
Letters of support. You may include no more than five letters of support from individuals or organizations that are aware of the nominee's contributions. Letters of support should provide specific reasons why the writer(s) believes the nominee is deserving of the award. Letters of support provided by organizations, congregations, local government officials or elected officials should be on official letterhead.
Supporting documentation. Copies of any available supporting documentation of the nominee's contributions and/or achievements, such as a list of awards previously received by the nominee, newspaper articles, etc. should also be mailed.

If your nominee has been selected as an award recipient, you will be notified no later than November 3, 2008.
